I won this dress from Rise in a Twitter competition. I totally love it! I also picked up this bag for £1 in New Look. Pips has her eye on it but I thought I'd use it to bring out the pink in the shoes before she gets her hands on it!

Sorry for the lack of pictures over the weekend. I spent a large part of it decorating the living room and wearing my painting clothes. Spiraboy did take some pictures of my outfit but he seems completely incapable of taking any that aren't a blurry mess so none were useable.

What you can't tell from these pics is that it is pouring with rain!

Not much to say about this outfit really. I fancied something simple and suitable for the weather. Jeans and boots is my go to outfit for days like today. I love how boots over the jeans makes the outfit looked put together even though it's a really casual look.

Back to cycling the school run in stilettos today and it felt great to be back in the fresh air, even i I am no where near as fit as I was before Christmas.

I had the idea for this outfit while lying in bed this morning trying to persuade my body to get up and failing. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, just a shame my hair has gone mental!! The builders are back building the house directly behind us so no outdoor pics for a while, it's bad enough feeling watched without standing in the garden taking photos of myself like a weirdo.

Please excuse the terrible hat hair - I have been putting my hat on and off all day. Just when we thought the snow was going we got another load last night. Fortunately it does still seem to be clearing. These poor boots are not designed for this kind of weather. Next year I hope to have some decent warm winter boots. One wash and this jumper has shrunk enough that it is definitely not jumper dress material anymore. Seems to be just about ok over leggings though.

Colour Coding

I have a good friend who should totally be a style consultant. She is absolutely brilliant! We have had discussions about the seasonal colour systems over and again, I've always thought they were a bit rubbish if I'm totally honest and felt like I should just wear whatever I like without it having to fit in with a specific list of acceptable colours. My friend on the other hand is a firm believer in it and I have to admit she always looks fabulously turned out and I've never seen her in a colour which doesn't work really well for her. So anyway, she told me she reckoned I was a winter and sent me a link to Kettlewell where there is a quiz which will tell you which season you are. I couldn't be more Winter if I tried! I also love the colours it gives for me and these are many of the colours I tend to go for anyway. I can't imagine I would ever not wear something I loved just because it wasn't one of my colours but it has certainly opened my eyes to what works especially well for me.

Yes that IS snow you can see falling in the pics. This is the lengths I go to for you readers to get pictures with decent lighting! Snow in excess of 30cm predicted for later so I think I will be hiding under my duvet until it warms up. I have two pairs of tights on but think I will be adding a pair of socks for the school run in an attempt to not have feet of ice.
