Magazine

Sorry no picture today, the camera battery is playing up and I can't find the spare.

I have managed to convince Alan that I can get a magazine subscription - quite an achievement given his tight grip on the purse strings. So, what fashion magazine would you recommend?

Summer Sling Show

Well, today I had a long day, got the train into London with my youngest and went to the Summer Sling Show. It was really fab but absolutely sweltering. I ended up standing on the tube for 1 1/2 hours with Pips on my back so was very glad I went for comfy flip flops and as few clothes as I could get away with!

Geek chic

I have an exciting day ahead, dismantling furniture ready for the arrival of a new bed thanks to freecycle. So definitely a jeans and T-shirt day. I love this Tshirt though it makes me chuckle.

Struggling with the photography

Since moving all the furniture round I am really struggling to get good pictures. It's really dark in the only place I have to take them at the moment. I think I am going to need to invest in a tripod so I can get some reasonable pics again.

New Blog

For anyone interested I have a new blog. Hope you enjoy it.

Barefoot but definitely not pregnant!

We have rearranged our living and dining rooms and now I am trying to find a new place to take photos. Been to a breastfeeding picnic to raise awareness for the need for legislation to protect the rights of breastfeeding mothers and children today so running round a field barefoot playing with the younger two. For more information check out Protect My Baby, Protect Me . Then house stuff after so been barefoot most of the day.

It's the first day of the Summer holidays for my middle son, and already I've had enough!!! Son number 1 finishes on Wednesday so hopefully things will improve because we can spend all day out and about doing things. We are going to do a blog of our summer so I will let you know the web address once it's all set up and going incase any of you wonder what goes on chez Kirkham.

Interview Suit

Went to the Next sale today, didn't expect to find much but managed to find a fab suit half price £45 from £90! Really pleased with it, I was so excited to find the two halves in the sizes I need. I am two sizes smaller on top than on the bottom so finding things that look good is hard work. So here is the suit in all it's different permutations.

Long Jeans

Feeling very pleased with these jeans - they are New Look Hula style (£10) and are a bit higher in the rise than most of the pairs on the market at the moment which is great for those of us with a curvy bottom half, not only that but they come in a 34" length so I can actually wear them with my heels! I do find it amusing that I am 5'6" and have 34" length yet my husband who is just over 6 foot only has 32".
I am currently on the hunt for a black suit skirt and really struggling. I am hoping to get a job interview one day and need something ready so I know I will look ok without having to go and buy anything in a rush. I have a black next suit but the trousers have seen better days and I thought it would be easy to get a skirt to go with the jacket but I was so wrong. Next had no plain black skirts, neither did any other shops in the local town so it looks like I'm off to M&S in a minute before I admit defeat and accept I need an entire new suit.

The Tights/Footwear Problem

After a detailed survey (well, asking on facebook anyway) it has been decided that the appropriate footwear for these tights is a pair of purple DMs. Unfortunately Alan was unconvinced when I told him I NEEDED a new pair to replace the ones that I threw out 8 years ago, however, he seems to be coming round to the idea. Trying to decide whether to go for Black or Purple now.
Just reminiscing about my younger days and the best boots I've ever owned. Here I am wearing them aged about 14 in my much loved Nirvana T-shirt.

Funky Tights

Not got much time today so the picture captures the colour of the skirt as best I could with only two shots. Another of the 4 for 99p skirts and the tights were 50p at Primark yesterday. Really couldn't work out what to wear on my feet though. The tights are so fussy they made the shoes look a bit funny. I think my knee highs would have looked better but knee highs, fishnets and a mini skirt is too much slapper for the school run even for me.

Quite impressed with the frugality of this outfit though - whole thing cost £3.24!!!

Rain Rain Go Away

So much for the Summer - it's raining here again. Another busy week of studying and jobhunting for me. Desperately trying to get as much done as possible before the school holidays. Trying to achieve anything with three little ones running about the place is a nightmare and I'd much rather be having fun and enjoying the children.

Taking it Easy

I won't lie, I have put zero effort into thinking about today's outfit. I am feeling a little 'delicate'! Got a trip to a running shop this morning and a preschool friends BBQ/party thing this afternoon so I will probably get the crocs out for comfort later.

Making it up

This is not an original outfit, I have worn it before with different footwear. But I like it! My eldest son has an Inset day today so I had a bit more time and decided to make a little more effort by putting on a bit of make up. It was well worth it, Jamie told me I looked 'cute in those clothes and beautiful with green eyelids'! Bless him! :-)

Work Shirts

I have realised that I tend to always wear this style of shirt/top on Thursdays when I am working. I really like the shape but definitely need to vary things a bit. With my job I don't have to look smart, but I do have to be professional. I never wear skirts or low cut tops for teaching because alot of what I do is very physical.

This picture is very odd but I like it - the sun started streaming through the window just as I took the photo. The one below shows the colours of the clothes better.

Dressing like a 4 year old

Not so hot here today thankfully. Got a busy day running errands so will be out and about and lots of walking so definitely a flat shoes day. I woke up stressed this morning so I dressed in a fun, childish way today with the hope of it improving my stress levels and returning them to those of a small child!

All Black

The photo isn't great because with it being an all black outfit the detail blends in. Anyway, nicked this shirt out of the old man's wardrobe and thought I'd revisit the 90s fashion for tied shirts. Have a feeling if it gets much hotter fashion will go out of the window and me and Pippa will be in the garden in our bikinis later on.
