Totally Unflattering

Why is it that I end up taking a picture right at the end of the day on a day when the picture reveals that the outfit I am wearing is totally unflattering? Ah well.

Mummy Uniform

Well I may be trying to avoid wearing jeans and t-shirts all the time but today I just couldn't be bothered to find anything else. We went walking in the forest and had a picnic with friends now just monging out at home.

Totally Exhausted

Please excuse how knackered I look in the pic - my two youngest have a horrible bug and kept me up most of the night. Not quite as bad as for Alan who Pippa decided to sleep on. At least their temperatures are down today and I'm hoping there will be no repeat of yesterday's vomitting all over Mummy incident! (I'm trying not to take it as a comment on the outfit lol)

Just the one

Ok I've worn this outfit before but without the tights and boots but I love it, so why not. My wonderful parents have taken our boys to Legoland for the day so we are reliving the peace and quiet that is life with only the one small child. Went to look at a house this morning, then shopping (I was good and didn't actually buy anything) and Pizza Hut for lunch. Such a lovely way to spend a Saturday. I am now a football widow though as Spurs have their first match of the season today.

And these in priceless shoes which are somewhat more in my price range:

Sadly Alan had his sensible hat on so no new shoes for me!

Yummy Mummy Week

I just have to support Yummy Mummy Week in aid of clic sargent. Haven't decided exactly what to do yet but I'll never make it to being a Yummy Mummy if I don't make an effort at these things. I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to wear a T-shirt saying 'I'm a Yummy Mummy' but the mugs are looking very appealing as Christmas presents for the relatives (mugs are always appreciated in our family, we drink ALOT of tea!!).

Lipstick

I went along to a Virgin Vie party the other week because my best mate has just started as a consultant. You may have noticed from my pics that I am no great make up wearer but I thought I'd better buy something to support her enterprise. Anyway, I bought a lip blush and it's amazing! I can't believe after 8 hours wear it is still going strong!!! It's withstood eating, drinking, chatting just got kissing to test next.

More Patriotism

Well, for a bit of fun here's another red, white and blue outfit. An old friend of mine is actually competing there next week so all my olympic spirit is being sent her way - Go Claire!!!!!

Will these holidays ever end???

Well, this picture is the best I could manage after many many attempts. The children are climbing the walls because we are stuck inside, it's raining yet again. Calling them Summer holidays is a joke! I am finding it hard to come up with interesting outfits when they need to be suitable for running round parks, crawling round on the floor and generally being on my feet all day. Ah well, only 22 days to go - not that I'm counting or anything.

Big Day

Had a lovely but very long day in London with the kids today. We visited the National Army Museum, went to Covent Garden and watched the street performers, went to Trafalgar Square and saw the Olympics on the big screen and some dance performance, walked down through St James Park to Buckingham Palace, then to Oxford St. to meet Alan for MacDonalds. Went for total comfort and so glad I did because the Tube is not pushchair friendly and I had to lug it up more steps than I care to remember. Was a lovely day made even better by my sister giving birth and making me an Auntie for the first time!

Fun on Saturday

It's been a miserable few days for me so I thought I'd have some fun with bright red, funky tights and funny poses!!! I've worn my blue denim mini lots recently so thought the black one could do with an outing.

The Blog Diet

Keeping this blog has done a couple of things for me;

1. I make way more effort with my clothes hair and even put make up on more than once in a blue moon. I've had people come up to me who I don't know and compliment me and those who do know me think something strange has come over me in recent months! I feel so much better about myself and am starting to get a real feel for what does and doesn't suit me. Of course I still make huge fashion mistakes, but when you dee the pictures there in front of you it's difficult not to see what does and doesn't work. Funny thing is it's things like the jeans I am wearing today which I previously thought looked really nice I realise actually do not do me any favours at all and make my arse and thighs look gigantic - ok that's not difficult but I prefer to minimise than accentuate these areas! Which leads me nicely onto......

2. My weight! My weight has been up and down since I got married and started popping out the babies, I haven't actually not been pregnant for this long since I was in my teens! Following the birth of each child I slimmed down and started the next pregnancy lighter than the previous but after Pips arrived I really needed to do something drastic. Alan had taken up baking during the pregnancy and I had ballooned from a size 10-12 to a 14-16. So I went to Weightwatchers with my sister and managed to get down to a comfortable 8-10, however, being a SAHM means lots of coffee mornings, lots of biscuits, lots of cakes and in my case a serious lack of willpower. So posting my pics has made me very aware when my waistline is growing, I am vain enough to not want to see fat pictures of me on the Internet everyday so it is definitely giving me the motivation to say no to the empty calories a bit more often.

Hoards of children!

Had a busy day today with 8 children and 4 slightly hungover mums for lunch. Loads of cleaning before they arrived so a jeans and flats kinda day. Thought I'd jazz it up with a scarf and have tried tying it differently today.

Blue

I don't usually wear all that much blue apart from denim, but as someone said they liked me in this outfit I thought I'd give it another go. I did have fishnets on with it but they really do not mix with children and ended up with a rather fetching hole in them so I had to swiftly revert to the bare legs look.

The Green Shoes

I am still really not sure about these shoes. I need some suggestions as to what they might go with, or is it time to pop them back on ebay and accept that they were never meant for me? I must add here that they really hurt my feet so I am not totally in love with them although I think they are just so cute I'm finding it hard to part with them. Here are the ways I've worn them:
