Eight Hours Later

Well, I started cleaning at 8am this morning and haven't really stopped! And my house is still not spotless, in fact I am not even finished downstairs yet!!!!!!!!!

Here come the girls...

I usually see the girls for coffee on a Thursday morning but we don't meet when it's holidays because even we can see that 5 adults and 12 children is not going to lead to a relaxing chat! But......we do meet once a month for a meal and lots of wine. Tonight is the night! Even better we have another friend visiting from Liverpool and one of our number had a new baby on Friday so we will get baby snuggles too! No doubt I will get rather tipsy as usual but as it's only at the house at the bottom of my garden I can stagger home quite happily. Please all keep your fingers crossed my children do not wake me up at 5.30am tomorrow!

And all because the lady loves....

Apart from feeling like the Milk Tray Man I couldn't resist my snuggly warm jumper dress today. Sorry about the awful picture - Alan gave up trying to get in to work today (why exactly the whole country seems unable to cope with a tiny amount of snow I can never understand) so took my photo for me and is, quite frankly, fired as a photographer!
I also have to share my experiences of bleaching a pair of my jeans this morning.....now, either Tesco value bleach is just water with a funny smell or Primark jeans are dyed with the most resilient dye ever made, but after 30mins of soaking the jeans are as dark blue as ever!!

SNOW!!!!!!!

We very rarely get any snow here so there was massive excitement in my house not only when I saw it but the children could hardly contain themselves this morning!! As is usual I think it'll all be gone by mid-morning so we got up early to get out and have a play. The children absolutely covered me in it. So much fun!!!! I would love to go somewhere where you get real proper snow by the foot not the few inches we occasionally get here.

We are playing lego today and our only errand is to run to the post office. Amazingly there is no primark in my outfit at all today - that has to be a first!

The Morning After

Don't look too closely at the pictures today, I thought dark glasses would be even more obvious than the puffy eyes!! I don't usually suffer from hangovers but forgot to drink any water before bed and am definitely paying for it this morning.

Stresshead

Life is very stressful here at the moment. However the good news is that due to sleepless night and worrying I am able to fit back into these jeans which I haven't been able to squeeze into for about a year!

Layering in one colour

After yesterday's all black ensemble I thought I'd try some layering all in white today. I think I like it but not really sure yet.

Sometimes it just doesn't work

The socks are a nightmare! I dispute that they are over the knee - only on someone with much shorter legs than mine. I have spent far too much time this morning yanking them up, so knee length they will be and I am so cross with them I am hiding them under boots (you'll be pleased to hear Alan!). They do keep my legs toasty warm though which can only be a good thing.
And Pip is modelling the new pyjamas she got yesterday. Poor little thing has already vommitted down the first pair which is why she is having a pyjama day.

To frighten my Husband

Because Alan looked totally horrified when I showed him these socks this outfit is just for him!!!!

A Discovery is Made...

Well, I found the Primark I was looking for (thanks for the directions :-) ) and it was a revalation! Our local store looks like a jumble sale with clothes thrown all over everywhere, this one was not only bigger but clean, bright, well organised and tidy. I found loads of things I liked and will have to make a return trip when I have some pennies. Today all I got was some knee length and overknee socks and some pyjamas for my daughter. So, I highly recommend Primark Basingstoke - expect to find me there regularly!!!
And to finish a great day I am now full up of roast lamb, wholewheat treacle sponge and custard my absolute favourite pudding - Thanks Dad :-D

Ice Queen

I am trying a new look for me today - I rather embrace the dark colours so I am trying something a bit lighter today. I would love some opaque white tights to go with this but have had to stick with tan even thought they do not have the bruise coverage I need!!! I've also gone without flattening out the natural volume (read I have the world's thickest hair) of my hair. If only I had been born in the seventies and got to really make the most of the fashion for big hair in the 80s. Anyway, I have the afternoon off to go and hunt out a bigger better Primark I have been told about and do a bit of window shopping to get some ideas for a party I am going to in a few weeks.

Loads of Learning

I have had a long day at a tutorial with other antenatal teachers and students. I had lost the enthusiasm for it but have come away feeling much more enthusiastic, with lots of new ideas and ready to start teaching again. It was really good to be back with some of the girls from my student group who I haven't had chance to catch up with for ages. I love tutorials, in no other circumstance would you get a group on non-pregnant women on hands and knees doing deep breathing and wiggling their backsides in a conference room then playing keepy uppy with balloons all in the name of adult education - fantastic!
Not very exciting clothes wise, just the same outfit as earlier in the week but the blue dress rather than the black.

Greyscale

My little photographer is still at home but feeling just fine (48hr exclusion sucks lol). I prmise not to wear these boots everyday forever but I am loving them sooooo much I can't help myself planning more outfits round them. They are really comfy too and I even managed to run in them to catch up with my daughter when she made a mad dash out of the school gates this morning.

Wow 200 posts!!

I can't believe I've reached 200 posts and that anyone actually reads this blog!
Still grinning from ear to ear about my new boots and hopefully that is detracting from the massive bags under my eyes from being kept up really late by my poor James who was puking quite impressively. So now I have him home for a couple of days which he is thrilled about because he now feels fine and knows he's allowed playstation on sick days.

Past it!

I completely forgot to take a picture today but am just in a simple jeans and T-shirt. I am in so much pain after last night - my headbanging muscles are out of practice and my poor neck can barely support the weight of my head. I am not even thinking about the pain in my feet from walking 5 1/2 miles and dancing all night in 3 inch heels!

Night Out

Here I am all gothed up for a night out.

Slightly School Girl

This is one of the skirts my friend gave me - it is fab and fits perfectly. This outfit does look a little bit school girly though. Me and Al are off out tonight for a drunkenness and headbanging so I will post a picture of my outfit later. I will try to get some pics of my handbags too.

New Things

Well I popped over to my friends house for an impromptu chicken pox party as her children have it and I am trying to get Pips infected. Anyway she has had a massive clear out and I came away with three fabulous bags, 2 skirts, a poncho, and a gillet. No doubt all will make their debut appearances in the blog over the next week or so. I have some awesome friends :-D

The thing I hate about ebay......

Why oh why does it seem to take forever for things to arrive? I am so excited about the arrival of a package of goodies and I hate that I have no idea when it will come. But enough about my impatience.

Outfit 2 - the joys of motherhood

Well..........
I had to move all of Jamie's furniture up into Ryan's room so we can fit new carpet. Thinking Pip was happily entertained with her fifi ride-on in the living room, I was just starting to unload the drawers when I heard the scream. She had fallen off and cut her head - why do scalps bleed so much for tiny little cuts? So, needless to say we both needed a change of clothes before people thought there had been some kind of massacre at our house.

Busy Busy Monday

Monday again already! Got a massively busy day ahead for me, an Avon coffee morning this morning, then pick up Ryan, toddlers this afternoon, then picking up Ryan's best friend who's coming to our house for tea. It's the first time he's had a school friend to play and he is so excited. Funny thing is both my boys best friends are girls. At some point I need to pack up and send off some bits I've sold on ebay to fund a new pair of boots as well. I'll be buzzing around like a busy little bee!!!!

So far from chic...

I have been volunteering all morning at my local NCT Nearly New Sale so it's definitely a jeans day. I am going to disappear out this afternoon to wander round the shops doing some Christmas shopping without the brood. We are all off to Pizza Express for dinner as a thank you from Al's work for him working through the night a couple of weeks back.

Nearly the Weekend!

It's really cold here this morning. I don't think the boots work with this skirt at all so will probably swap to my faithful black ones when I get a spare minute. I might as well just accept that I'll wear my black boots everyday between now and March!! I could really do with a couple more pairs of comfy warm long boots. Must see if I can get a bargain on ebay.
