The Urge to Purge!

I'm planning on having a bit of a clear out of the things I just don't wear anymore, or that no longer fit. Spring is definitely in the air if I'm getting the urge to purge. I'm hoping to have a swishing party in March to get rid of my unwanted things in an ethical and environmentally sound way. How do you decide what stays and what goes? I am terrible for hanging on to things which might come in handy one day. Also, how often do you do a wardrobe clear out? I tend to do one biannually. At the beginning of Autumn/Winter and again at the beginning of Spring/Summer.

Boots!!!!

You may remember me lusting after a pair of boots here. Well I was so pleased to pick up these at Primark yesterday for a mere £10. Mean old Spiraboy will not let me wear them until after my birthday though, that'll teach me for using the birthday excuse for getting new boots!

Saturday 30/1/10

I won this dress from Rise in a Twitter competition. I totally love it! I also picked up this bag for £1 in New Look. Pips has her eye on it but I thought I'd use it to bring out the pink in the shoes before she gets her hands on it!

Sunday 17/1/10

Just been chilling out at home. Not a fantastic outfit and as these pics were taken at midnight I'm looking a little knackered too. This skirt was bought in the January sales for £6 I think. It is lined which is great because it doesn't ride up so much.

A/W Shopping time

It's that time of year again when I look at all my winter clothes and see how tired they are looking. Fortunately I love shopping because the stuff I buy is cheap and cheerful and rarely lasts more than a year. I have been looking back at my posts from this time last year. Firstly - I can't believe how much my hair has grown! Secondly, I was wearing alot of tights and skirts/shorts last year whereas I seem to be sticking with the safety of jeans this year. Must get my legs out abit more!

and here they are....

Well these are the jeans I got - I haven't worn any this pale in a long time, so good? bad? or indifferent? I am hoping they will provide more of a contrast with my pairs of knee boots than the indigo pairs I usually wear.
Jeans - Matalan

I have just made a discovery.....

There is a Matalan clearance store 5 mins from the new house. I knew moving here was a good idea!! Just picked up a new pair of jeans for £3.50 and definitely going to have to go back for a proper rummage once Pippa is in nursery.

One of the 80%

Well I had a revelation yesterday. Having spent years complaining about my lack of boobs it appears I was one of the 80% of women wearing completely the wrong size. So after taking lots of advice I headed out to M&S to see what would fit me better. Here is the result:

Before I was wearing a 32B after I am in a 30DD! They are such a better shape and so much more comfortable. So girls - go and get properly fitted! And if you can't get somewhere here are some top tips:-

1. measure under your bust this is your band size - you don't need to add anything.

2. measure around the fullest part, the difference between this and your band size is your cup size.

3. try on loads of different styles and sizes to find something which fits properly.

4. you should only be able to get 1 or 2 fingers under the band. It will feel tight if you have been wearing a larger band size - this is fine the band is where the support comes from.
