Many changes....

Well, as of tomorrow I am going to be working full time. It's the first time since before I was a student (over 11 years!!) that I will have worked full-time in an office. So, the blog is going to be changing a bit too. Obviously I will be posting work outfits during the week and casual ones at the weekend. No more School Gate Chic needed for this working Mummy!

Please keep your comments coming. I need as much help as I can get moving to a completely new style of dressing.

Monday 6/9/10 - End of an Era

This is what I wore today on this hugely significant day when my youngest baby started school. It would have looked better with black tights but I haven't got any for the winter yet so had to make do without. Today has been an incredibly odd day. For the first time since I was at Uni I have no children at home during the day and need to start to think about what I actually want to do with the rest of my life. It's a scary place to be.

But for now today is about my beautiful baby girl, Philippa who made her first appearance on the blog at nearly two and has grown from this little dot....

To this fabulous little school girl....

Pretty boring outfit today. My week days have been all messed up this week and I was helping in Nursery today rather than Tuesday. I do really love my mornings there. I have added the pic of Pips just because I'm a proud Mummy!!

Tuesday 10/11/09

I have barely been in today. Helping out at nursery this morning, more therapeutic laminating, then off to a friends for lunch. Got back just in time to leave and pick up the boys! Finally sat down for five minutes before heading out again to the post office. Might have to sneak in a cuppa before I go out again. I'm definitely flagging.

Thursday 1/10/09

Have had a lovely morning doing a course at school with Jay. It's so rare we get one on one time together and both he and I are really loving it. I got lots of compliments on the shoes - they always seem to get a really positive response from other people. Can someone please tell me that big hair is back......mine seems to be growing bigger at a scary rate. Very tempted to get it all chopped off again.

No close up pics today, I am suffering from a hideous hangover this morning and noone needs to see that! Definitely comfort over style for me today. I did have a very proud Mummy Moment this morning when Ryan was fantastic in his school harvest assembly. Then took part in a parenting project with Jamie and had a fab session of one on one time with him. My kids rock!

Fashion and Babywearing

Ok, I am an big fan of babywearing and have worn Pips since she was a baby. I didn't know enough about it to do it with the boys unfortunately but am glad I have had a chance to see how fantastic it can be. My biggest problem is that I have two slings: this one and an orange pouch sling, but nothing goes with them! I am not a multi-coloured stripey kind of person. Now, the question is, should the sling be a fashion accessory for the mum or is it a fashion accessory for the child?

Holidays

Kids are on half term holidays so no pics this week. Just been wearing jeans, t-shirts and various coloured crocs. Makes playing with the three of them so much easier. Back to more interesting stuff once they have gone back to school/preschool and I spend less time being bundled!

Quick and Easy

Looking very tired today after being up in the night with my daughter and then having to clear vomit this morning. A mum's life is so glamourous! Anyway, no solo picture today because putting her down means lots of crying.`

Yummy Mummies

I came across this article and it really made my blood boil. Why is it that in order to be considered a good mother you must take no pride in your appearance? I won't lie, there have been many days when I have been so hectic running around after the little ones that I look a total state and have dropped them off without having brushed my hair let alone thought about creating and interesting and attractive outfit to wear. It doesn't mean that on the days I have managed hair, makeup and nice clothes that I have been neglecting my children or having someone else to help with them, it was just a good day. Give mum's a break! It's a hard job with very little reward and could knock the self-confidence out of anyone, so if mum's are managing to look good while doing it then well done to them because I would put money on the fact that they are not anything like the image portrayed by the idiot who wrote this article.

Todays outfit is all about coping with the sudden hot weather. I am not good in heat. I nicked my husband's shirt and it's so comfy.
